Welcome! I am so glad you’re here!

I am a lifestyle photographer, based in Dublin, Ohio. My work focuses on leveraging natural light to create soft and timeless photographs, in an environment where my families feel comfortable.

Having good photographs has always been important to me. It’s a moment in time that you will never get back. It tells a story and helps people connect and remember in such a personal way.

My love for photography goes back to my childhood when my dad gave me an old hand-me-down camera that used Fujicolor 110 film. I grew up watching not only my dad capture memories, but also my grandpap. I remember the days of going to Cord Camera to pick up newly developed film - and holding those 3x5 images (4x6 was an additional cost). It was the first time we were able to see how our photographs turned out. Clearly, this was well before digital was introduced :) I would save money for future cameras by mowing the lawn at $5 a cut, to hoping I’d get a fancy 35mm automatic zoom for my birthday in high school.

Once I had children, I realized how important those moments truly were. The first time I took my daughter to a studio for “professional photographs," she was terrified and cried the entire time. We left with nothing. It was that experience, where I simply wanted to learn how to take better photographs of my children.

Then came my first DSLR, the Nikon 3200 and a 50mm lens (thanks to my husband)…and things began to get real. To this day, I am so grateful for my families who trusted me during those first sessions back in 2013-2014. They had confidence and saw something in me, that at times, I did not.

Now, hours of practice, learning and growing, I am so grateful to have worked with hundreds of families throughout Central Ohio. These photographs are displayed in homes, used on holiday cards or have even captured a loved one who is no longer here. This brings a smile to my heart knowing I was able to help tell that story.

“Always shoot it now. It won’t be the same when you go back.” ~Jay Maisel

I am optimistic, love to learn, and try to focus on the good no matter how dark the clouds are. I love to travel, Labrador Retrievers, down comforters, a McDonald’s Coke, the smell of the ocean, and the warm sun hitting my face.

Yet, like you, I have my own story. I have captured my family in a photo a day, 365 photo projects documenting our own journey for multiple years. Yes, there are smiles, but there are also tears and hardships. My children love to look at these pictures as they evoke so many emotions and memories. At ages 11 and 7, I still continue to pick up the camera for them.

Xoxoxo,
Jen
